Data are provided for the crude oil storage tank shown in Figure. The tank initially contains 1000 m^3 of crude oil. Oil is pumped into the tank through a pipe at a rate of 4 m^3/ min and out of the tank at a velocity of 2.5 m/s through another pipe having a diameter of 0.15 m. The crude oil has a specific volume of 0.0015m^3 / kg. How long does it take to fill the storage tank? (a) Determine the time rate of change of mass contained within the tank in kg/min? (b) How long does it take to fill the storage tank? (minutes)
